It is not really a surprise that you and your husband connected through dance…and what a connection! You never know about these things. My mother and father met on a blind date. I enjoyed reading your description of the “give-and-take” and personality adjustments required in a marriage. Although yours seemed made in heaven, it also took work.
A beautiful remembrance. I always thought of my husband and I like Emily Brontë’s quote “whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.” I’ll be entering my 5th year of widowhood in January, also independent and self-sufficient, still in the “me” stage. I know there’s a next phase, but not quite sure what it is. Thank you for sharing your story.
And thank you for the connection Cathy. I’m starting to become just a wee bit more willing to consider that perhaps all of life is full of “next phases”. Sending my own version of love, light & angels to walk with you as your next one unfolds.
I'm so glad you shared your story Marilyn. I love the deep soul connection you two have and that October 29 is such a powerful day for you.
Giving yourself permission is a huge step. It's almost like peeling away the layers of our beliefs as I know you do, to arrive at fully allowing with no permission needed. But we cannot force ourselves to arrive at that place.
We really did have some pretty magical moments - lots to me grateful for :-)

- lovely photos!
Thanks for reading Elaine - I love learning that your parents were also blind-date partners. "Perfectly on Time" ... LOL.
